Final Year Project_A False Tranquility_清平·误
The entire project takes inspiration from a song titled "A False Tranquility," which depicts the tragic life of Li Yu, the last emperor of the Southern Tang dynasty. Li Yu was a great poet but an unsuccessful king, as the Tang empire fell during his reign. His lack of political sensitivity led to his disregard of threats and wars. When danger finally arrived, he found himself powerless to fight back and instead used his calligraphy as a weapon to document the enemy's brutality. Eventually, he met his demise after being poisoned on the orders of Emperor Taizong of Song (Zhao Kuangyin) during his two-year exile as a prisoner. Clearly, the collapsing regime of the Tang era and his limited abilities hastened the downfall of the Tang Dynasty.
In this film, the story revolves around a mischievous boy who despises studying and reciting lessons. He simply wants to play around and have fun.
